Bit tired of saying but most shorting now is naked.
US started it and makes sense. No borrowed. stock to worry about, and think who would lend out stock in a clear uptrend? Second point how do regulators police short selling. They have better things to do...I won't go into that (stupid) question. The brokers run it because it's almost risk free. All my opinion, not advice.
