First of all.. it is thermal coal... Many major miners are divesting coal due to climate change concerns and loss making operations.

Secondly it is paying for the environmental clean up. The closure liabilities are in excess of $875 million.
So yeah do the maths... if you want to get rid of an "asset"with a huge liaiblity u will need to pay to get out...
Back to Tshipi... well it is already over 50.1% owned officially by S.A insitutions as JMS only owns 49.9%. We also know that they have also increased their shareholding on the ASX via 2 announcements on 7 October 2020. Refer to my post ----> 47927210
So what is the likelyhood of Tshipi being expropriated? Low in my books.. but of course never zero... then again so are the chances of a meteorite falling right onto Tshipi. I would be more worried if S32 were paying to get out of Manganese...
So instead of fear mongering.. why not post the whole article instead of just the attention grabbing headline?
