I think the deal may benefit POS in 2 ways:
- better margins on their mining operation and transport by virtue of the purchaser of a significant quantity being nearby
- they will receive a percentage of the grant in support of the costs of starting mining. For example Alpha HPA got a $45m grant, of which 10% goes to Orica in support of their supply of the resource to be processed. So maybe POS will get 10% of the grant to support their mining operation.

Would be a bonus if POS got any equity interest in the proposed new battery materials refinery.
