I was very young but know there was a fuel crisis in Australia: in NSW this led to some country passenger trains on branch lines finishing, never to return.
If he can quote history as he did, there's a good chance that he (and others coached by him at FID) will learn the lessons of it. This doesn't mean they'll avoid mistakes, but they may minimise same.
