MLS has about 3 billion shares, indeed, and when one looks at the trading volume over the past year, one could assume that on great news the stock could still take months to turn over, say, an equivalent (3 billion share) volume. But this would almost certainly not be the case. Firstly, with any great news, a substantial part of those 3 billion shares would likely not be sold. Secondly, if one looks back at the trading volumes of about 2 to three years ago one can see some DAILY trading volumes of well in excess of 30 to 80 to 100 million shares. So it is entirely conceivable that daily and weekly turnover on news will be a huge fraction of the float. It may be noted that MetalsTech (MTC.ASX) today traded 137.8 million shares, over 2.5 times, it’s ~52 million share float.)
