Yes, since Covid many processes seem to be slower.
The possible reasons you give are interesting.
1. Incomplete - always possible. But FIRB hasn't asked parties for additional info for several months now.
2. Doesn't apply in this case.
3. As you say, it's iron ore. Not uranium etc.
4. Red flags - yep, possible on the Chinese side. Pardon the pun.
5. Treasurer - this is an interesting one. he has a track record does Charmers. Also, Labor are pretty worried atm about their position and polling. This possibility does worry me a little.
6. The Canberra effect. This is most likely. it's what I'm hoping for though.
