been watching these after initial ann on portland creek and glad i did not jump in - why -(apart from the sp) i still dont get the geology, and lot of it rides on a expert in glacial geology saying that the material that contains the strong U anomaly IS NOT glacial tillite.
well when u look at the valley it is hard to think the colluvium isnt glacial in some manner shape of valley. source - certainly not from the cliffs above - that is a completely seperate looking material and no anomaly there i assume - so not source.
i scoured the ann but could not see any comment on the composition of the anomalous colluvial material - even the non anomalous rocks - are they locally derived, or are they rocks that dont fit the immediate area. which type of rocks are anomalous???
so baseline question is - is that material transported?? dont care if not glacial - is it transported by other means. the current model being used indicates it is residual material derived from below - a bit strange in my view looking at the photos.
