I tend to agree. I feel there is a real risk over the coming years of newer investors just sticking with ultra low cost ETF's and perhaps with institutional money too.
What exactly is the benefit of putting money with companies like MFG/PTM if they underperform over time ?
Also with such a wide array of ETF's that would go a long way to replicating a lot of the thematic investments of choice (geographically, industries diversification, market caps etc) I don't really see the benefit unless people really think rockstar stock pickers can actually sustainably beat the market.
