I do not know anything about mining. As an interested observer I would say this. IMHO, a grandiose plan might well in theory be cheaper in the long run, but we have to survive "in the short run."
I would like to see a mine that produced ore as quickly and cheaply as possible to provide some cash flow which could then be used to finance the later mineworks. It can be dangerous to work with big shots who cannot think small
