Yep, can't argue with any of that, I enjoy my research as well. A combination of both TA and FA works for me seeing I'm not that good at either.
I've stopped going long on stocks in recent times therefore increasing my TA knowledge has assisted greatly in buy and sell indicators.
But as you mentioned, with the erratic movements of small caps it pays to be in sinc with SP movements and that's where TA is vital.
