Good on him .... you think if you paid him even more he might generate a return for shareholders ? would of though USD$15k a week might buy you some success or at least some shareholder return.
His USD $150M bet on SM58/69 being the next SM71 has not worked out well over the past 5 years. Essentially five years of cashflow grossing 1200 bopd and 3mmcfd from 6 wells with production TBC from G4/G6.
For context SM71 is grossing a similar amount (1100bopd) and cost the JV $52M and has paid for itself a number of times over.
Old mate $1 Maynard just wont accept the geology of SM58 hasn't been proved up and their interpretation of the seismic isnt right.
