You are suggesting that the "senior employee / director" who has been caught misappropriating funds is liquidating their holding to pay the legal judgement they may face. The news of the fraud/theft first broke on 24feb2023 with the final forensic report being released on 29mar2023, the same day the director Kaminsky resigned. Presumably Kaminsky is the culprit? Upon resignation he owned 150k shares, not nearly enough to explain the hammering the stock has received.
