Unfortunately the industry is loath to issue figures so you have to scour the accounts of the leasing companies for clues or attend the industry schmooze fests, a good rule of thumb though is you might get a 30-50pct discount off the list price for a new plane, a 7 year lease will run you around 10-12 percent a year of the price of the plane depending on the plane type, so an embraer 190 with a 50 mio usd list might cost 30mio and lease for 3m even an atr 72 turbo prop which are very popular for short hops will run you close to that too, problem is for dusty dirty runways in the outback low slung jets under the wing are not a good idea, the fokker is a much better design with the jets high off the ground but they dont make them any more so really the embraer or new airbus 220 are your choices but nobody is going to even think about joining this game until the mining companies are paying double what they do now, Australia is pretty unique in having a need for lots of need for small jets to fly long distances with non billionaires riding in them ...
