It's a positive step by FRI. They buy back shares on market, which supports RS, and in this case, when the buyback is complete they cancel the shares which means profits will then be shared by 12m less shares. It's win win. I have held many stocks that were treated this way and if my memory is correct it's always been a good move to support shareholders.
