Figures published this week in AFR regarding weekly rents (apparently source is SQM) :
- house rents increased by 11.5 % yoy in Perth (average rent : 499 $),
- unit rents increased by 12.3 % yoy in Perth (average rent : 378 $).
Still according to this article, average rents are now similar to Melbourne, but still below those in Sydney, where average rent is 663 $ for a house and 457 $ for a unit.
Main reason for this increase in Perth : vacancy rate decreased from 2.1 % one year ago to 0.8 % now.
