"If sufficient reserves are defined then from the satellites deposits on the Morila ground, at a historical grade of 1.2-1.4 g/t this material would displace the tailings and could see production increase to ~ 70-80koz pa"That is almost double our present production just from the satellites.
that’s a solid point!
On that, I think some underestimate just how straight forward this number will be. Barrick was mining approx 60koz on the satellite/ tailing blend they had going.... in the condition that plant is... as above, there’s no reason as above 70-80koz+ could be achieved from restarting the already permitted satellite pits.
whats really Important to remember here is Koting. I’m fairly convinced koting (k1-k5 ... maybe more?) has the potential to be expanded towards a 200koz + deposit. It runs deeper than previous satellite pits... but it’s hard to know, more work to be done.
So to emphasise, 70-80koz pa very achievable in the short term, before the Morila Pit, comes into play.
