No matter what, while the purchase of Morilla the gorilla seemed to be a good idea last year, it’s now become a monkey on our back. It seems to be requiring a lot more money than first indicated and the lithium side of the business is suffering (and funding it) as a result. Something is not quite right with the gold business.
I bought into this company in 2016 and was waiting for the lithium market to turn so that I could finally make a decent profit. And while you can’t sneeze at the increase in SP this past 12 months, it could have been so much more. PLS up 8x since November 2020, GLN 14x, AVZ 10x. And us, 5x.
Who knows, maybe the spin off of Leo will bump up the return, but until then I remain disappointed and can’t help but think but what might have been, and how much more money I would have had if we had 300m SOI instead of 1billion - and how many more shares in Leo.
