When challenged, a detailed story is provided of allegedly raising money for CC (an organisation obviously not any form of treatment provider) expressing a grudge that the NFP ‘did nothing to help’?
I see a few red flags …
(1) The ‘detailed’ story follows my challenge to the bald statement. Why not provide some context at the beginning?
(2) The story does not ring true to me. If the purpose of raising this ‘large amount of money’ was to benefit a particular cancer patient then it seems much more likely those funds would have been directed towards finding best available treatment for the patient.
IMU is all about finding a cancer cure and emotive stories like are unsurprisingly not unusual in these threads.
Usually the stories are ‘on topic’ and almost invariably they elicit uncritical support. This one? Simply bashing a NFP totally unconnected to IMU.
Some may choose to echo a bald statement criticising a NFP and then uncritically accept a subsequent story which attempts to justify it without question or doubt.
I don’t.
