@allens don't be mislead by the poorly read.
Challenger's total 1.2Moz came out of a mine that was 1,000m deep, and went underground a short while after mining out the open pit.
If you read into the history the Challenger pit only produced something like 150,000 ounces over 4 years, at a grade of ~4 g/t Au.
There is potential everywhere for stuff to go deep, but it requires a LOT of cost to map it out and hundreds of millions to develop.
