I reckon it highlights how serious EV1 is in making grounds on battery development, just how much further advanced they are with Anteotech than other EV companies are and how much they value Anteotech's technology.
I assume that if one day EV1 decides to go with the ultranode they will by default still require AnteoX (which provides benefits to higher silicon batteries - I can't see the ultranode being used without AnteoX) ... so the current development and hopeful eventful use of AnteoX is imo vital and needed to be bedded down and put in use first (i.e. with the AnteoX optimised anode currently being developed), which will likely allow for the later smoother adoption of the ultranode
