The news release states that "Reward is a new discovery". As it is the same area as the Stanley Reward prospect where trenching and drilling occurred in the 70's, VMS should provide a drill plan that relates RW001 to the earlier drilling. Note that VMS www states "The adjacent Stanley Reward and Livingstone Creek area (2-4 km west of Mt Lindsay) was subject to an extensive exploration programme over the 1973-1986 period by Pacminex Pty Ltd (subsidiary of CSR Ltd) and Union Corporation Pty Ltd which became Gencor (Australia) Pty Ltd. The subsequent drilling was focussed on geophysical and geochemical targets within the Renison marker sequence."
Hopefully it is a new discovery per se and not "new" to VMS. There are many geologists who worked aound the Meredith Granite to Renison Bell in the 60's to 80's, completing aerial and ground geophysics, soil geochemistry, mapping and drilling etc without defining an economic deposit. Hopefully VMS will now develop a viable project.
With such a long history of exploration in the area, VMS has to ensure that all relevant information from past programs is referenced so that new discoveries are correctly identified as such.
