Good article,
So 98% of the Nb mined is from Carbonatite, circular basins with no fresh rock within them, surrounded by a hard shell. Easily recognisable by the circular halo look.
Alternatively: The fresh rock pegs mines are spotty with high grade nodules within, but are usually overall lower grade and patchy from what I gather.
