Gaps as a superstition are akin to wearing red jocks to give one good luck.
Most gaps close because it is very rare in a continuing sequence that has inherent volatility for any price to be an absolute top or an absolute bottom... As such, most gaps will close, but those that don't will lead to huge runs.
I think we're still sitting on a gap at 17cents from early November 2014.... Imagine if someone had waited for that gap to close before investing... They'd be kicking themselves now.
