Atlas Gas Pipeline Project
The Atlas Gas Pipeline Project (Atlas) plays an important part in delivering Jemena’s Northern Growth Strategy, which seeks to build an interconnected supply chain of energy delivery assets in northern Australia through targeted acquisitions and greenfield developments.
Jemena is working with Senex Energy and the Queensland Government to strengthen the security of gas supply for the domestic east coast gas market.
The Atlas Gas Pipeline Project will transport gas from the Atlas Gas Field – the first domestic gas acreage from the Queensland Government – to the domestic east coast gas market via Jemena’s Darling Downs Pipeline.
The Atlas Gas Pipeline Project is a 60 kilometre long, buried gas pipeline between Senex Energy’s Atlas Gas Field, west of Wandoan, and Jemena’s Darling Downs Pipeline, and includes a compressor station, located close to the Atlas Gas Field.
Construction will be undertaken this year, with commissioning of the project expected by the end of 2019.
Jemena will work closely with the local community to ensure they are informed as Jemena develops the Atlas Gas Pipeline Project.
