Yeah, I suspect that the comment from DT about “mineralised veining at each target” is basically just confirmation that the right style of veining and association of sulfide minerals have been recorded, but the grade is open ended question until assay results. The ‘mineralised veining’ you would expect is backed up by pathfinder geochemistry using the pXRF (S, As, Cu, Bi, Sb etc). They mention this in the Table 1 reporting details, of the 3m composite samples. pXRF is not reliable at all for direct Au detection, well at least not at the common concentrations we are dealing with here (even the economic Au concentrations), the detection limit is too high.
Also, re the visual gold, no doubt if it was observed it would have been mentioned. But, we have to keep in mind this is RC drilling so its less likely that would have been noted compared to diamond drilling (just as a generalisation). This is because, 1) its faster (than diamond), and the geo is generally busier with less time to spend on each sample and the priority is making sure the sampling and general logging is correct; and 2) most of the sample stays in the bulk bag and the geo is looking at quite a small volume of sieved rock chips (hopefully representative), but that’s not the same as having the entire sample in front of you (i.e. the full core, when diamond drilling).
So, sure they might see visible gold if it’s there, and of course if its extensive VG (uncommon) then you would expect to see it…or if they were panning the ‘mineralised intervals’ but i suspect given the workload etc that its easier to just collect the pXRF pathfinder data and then wait for the assays.
