Given that every State Government in Australia is socialist Labor, except small Tasmania and the March 2023-election facing Liberal/Nationals government in NSW that may fall to Labor, having this sort of an argument with a key union is diabolical over the medium term for retaining urban bus (and tram/train) contracts.
Labor has a habit of being great haters so no doubt this legal battle will be placed in its corporate memory, whatever the outcome.
