    On JAT pillar 2:

I have been truly amazed at how much money ‘Daigou’ can make if a product is wanted in China. Have a Chinese student boarding with us who I thought collected runners for a bit of a hobby and sending them to China to friends for pocket money. He will wait in a queue to buy the latest style, is only allowed to buy 1 pair at a time (By the store/s) and ships them away. He turned 18 this year and wanted a car once he passed his learners. Bought a BMW for 7k cash.
2 months later he said he wanted a newer car and was looking at an Audi. I asked what his budget was and he said 40K !!! He bought it CASH as well - solely from the money he made by sending pairs of runners to China, and has kept the BMW.... I asked him how much he has made selling his shoes and he said 70k. You could have knocked me over with a feather...I am in the wrong job! (This is NZ money BTW)
On further questioning he says that while brand name shoes may be made in China, apparently they cannot sell them there - at least not straight away, and demand is huge so he makes a motza.
And this is one student doing study and exams etc etc......

So from my perspective 'Pillar 2' on its own can be huge if a demand comes in or created for JAT's products

    Cheers and DYOR etc
