Honestly LBT should not have even announced this - as it has not positive effect on their share price.
The way I see it is this:
1) No one is rushing to buy the product even though it is new and does something that it's competitors do not do.
2) That means potential customers are not seeing the value of the apas product.
3) So LBT subsequently gives one away one for free to try to convince potential buyers it has actual value.
Not good at all.
PS I did like your Oprah analogy.
