the Schuster and Silviu interviews put paid to that I'm afraid. They wouldn't have been able to do an interim analysis if they hadn't recruited enough.
It was a failure to meet surrogate endpoints, it's in black and white - don't say you weren't warned when the futility analysis comes in.
