all very true but the family examples you gave are pretty centrally controlled. The way this family has it spread out means you are pretty reliant on a happy family - not saying the are not - just that it is a risk. A friend of mine lost a small fortune once in a stock where a guy owned 60% and got divorced and his wife instructed her half to be sold within a week! The sp fell 70% and never recovered - she was thrilled apparently.
