The natural pathway is for Brine to be converted to Carbonate and Spod is converted to Hydroxide. Carbonate is more commonly used in LFP batteries (and shorter range/entry level cars). Hydroxide is used in NCM batteries like NCM622 & NCM811 used for longer range/top-end EV models.
Price falls are larger for Carbonate, while the Fastmarkets estimated price changes on Hydroxide are limited (but as with any prices, this could change at short notice).
