    This may seem unrelated, but I suspect it may be:

    Does anyone know (because I do not) if Tesla mix and refine their own spod at their Nevada Gigafactory, or do they buy refined spod ready for battery development?

    I believe their supplier at Nevada is Piedmont, from memory. Piedmont to my knowledge do not have a refinement process so I suspect Tesla buy raw SC6.0 spod directly from them and refine it internally before application.
