Anteris technologies yesterday announced that the first 5 patients have successfully been implanted with Anteris’s DurAVR Valve.
An additional 5 patients are planned for treatment in the first quarter of 2022 to conclude the study.
This is a massive step towards FDA approval as AVR’s technology shows:
- Avoids the need for open heart surgery
- AVR’s heart valve have shown no calcification over 10 years – therefore avoids repeat surgery, and allows younger patients to be treated
- Early signs from first 5 patients have shown DurAVR providing superior haemodynamics
- Commissural alignment, flow characteristics and haemodynamics were proven to be clinically significant
