I asked.
When Flames was drilled as a Woodford well, I asked DP why it wasn't a Sycamore well.... and he explained the reason as per above.
When Bruin's was announced as Woodford only DSU I asked if that was because of the density of the historic vertical wells in the Sycamore, as per Flames..." yep"
