You say fluffbut it is at this point where there is significant operational risk. The drill is going through all the crap such as sand, gravel, bits of old dinosaur etc.
The risk is that the crap falls in behind the drill and gums things up. Takes a lot of extra time, effort and cost to fix.
I have spoken to DP about this previously and he said this is the one point in a drill where he pulls all nighters monitoring progress.
The fact they are progressing without incident should not be underestimated.
