Interview above speaks volume if you know where interviewee is coming from. Cambodia is replicating China’s Suzhou Industrial Park concept, a brainchild of Chinese and Singapore governments in the 1980’s. In turn, SIP was modelled after the development of SG’s Jurong Industrial Park. Ream City is just the next project. In fact, China’s industrial cities are based on the same SIP framework with variations. That’s how China developed so quickly in last 30 years.

ASEAN is not the same ten years ago. We are telling China and USA not to make us choose between the two because all we want to do to raise development for the people.

International politics aside, Cambodia will play catch up.
