I have to say the quality of research in our forum is unrivaled in Hotcopper land. A lot of attention is directed to 'Lithium" and the like, but like sheep.. they all get led to the slaughter house en masse. FLC is an absolute gem... and the wider market hasn't even realised it yet.

To execute these deals whilst the US and China are at their throats shows the Chinese were never going to say 'no' to world-class technology.

We have to remember that it is the US who is pushing this trade-war, China will always be happy to receive leading technology from the West.. especially if it is going to help improve their own backyard.

What the trade war has done is increased the barriers to entry for any competitors looking to enter the MABR market in China. Any new investment is likely going to be deferred and discounted with a high risk premium .. resulting in less investment in China from the West.

It works well for those already in China... a successful business takes more than just a winning strategy, a lot of the time.. you need to be in the right place at the right time. Lauder knew this, and that is why they moved so quickly in 2017 ... the merger was a masterstroke... and we are at the very early stages of seeing this strategy materialise ... IMO it is only a matter of time before the demand becomes overwhelming.
