Hi Kev
We most definitely have water quality issues here. Not as bad as China, true, but also we don't have the political will/gumption to do anything about it.
My local river goes green every summer and all that happens is the no swimming signs go up.
The Murray Darling has enormous problems. Issues flow from poor flow (taking too much water out, and low rainfall), phosphorus inflows, very warm water.
I think most of us live on or near a water body that has at least semi regular blue green algae problems.
