Something to keep an eye on given the March announcement with China Railway:
Substantial demand looks to be coming down the pipeline for railway service areas with a doubling of the high speed rail network plus an expansion of the rail system by 41% announced by China Railway. Huge financing involved: $49bn was invested in the network in 2020 and more than $1 trillion since 2009.

The aim of the expansion is to encourage the growth of regional hubs, thereby offering migrating rural workers an alternative to the relatively wealthy coastal provinces. At present, there are wide disparities in wealth between Chinese provinces, with the Beijing region averaging a nominal per capita income of more than $20,000 compared with $9,300 in the central province of Hubei and $4,500 in the remote northwestern province of Gansu.
As part of the plan all cities with a population greater than 200,000 will be serviced by a line, and those with more than 500,000 people will have access to the high speed service.
An idea of the size of the plan is given by looking at the distribution of stops on the current high speed line. The expansion will double these stops alone. My kingdom for a bulk order agreement...
