Unfortunately Nirobox and Aspiral are too expensive in a relative sense for poorer areas in developing nations. It is not just the cost of the containerized plants, it is actually having to upgrade and ensure the reliability of the power grid. The reality is that many poorer areas of developing nations do not have access to reliable power grids. Desalination is very demanding for power consumption for production of potable water. Piping infrastructure would then need to be invested in to transfer potable water to central points for water collection. The cost of laying sewage pipes to each household in poor districts would make it unfeasible. Reliable mobile coverage would also then be required for remote monitoring of the services. Then there are various treatment chemicals that may be required for disinfection or taste stability.
Trucking in water tankers to some of these areas and focusing on simpler treatments like septic tanks seems easier for organizations to manage.
That being said, in the past Nirobox has supplied temporary mobile petrol generator powered Nirobox units for short term emergency and disaster relief projects. However, this was an older Nirobox design and since the creation of Fluence is unlikely to be something to help generate short term positive cash flow.
