The partner for MABR/SUBRE in the Philippines is of huge significance to Fluence.

The partner is Manila Water Technical Ventures, a division of Manila Water.
Manila Water is a subsidiary of the oldest and largest conglomerate in the Philippines, Ayala Corporation.

There have been at least 4 projects to date installed so far, 2 x 400 m3/d, and 2 x 200 m3/d, across 3 different Philippine islands.

There were new Philippine DENR effluent standards put in place in 2016, with a maximum 5 year grace period before full enforcement. That means that, like China, there is pressure on businesses and resorts to get their sewage treatment upgraded to meet requirements. As the Philippines is made up of 7641 different islands, there is plenty of decentralization opportunity at various resorts and housing developments.

Manila Water has tested some competing technologies, and has settled on MABR/SUBRE at this stage.
@ywtoh as always, we seem to be in similar markets to Organica Water's FCR. This (Manila Water) explains some of the Filipinos you saw around at SIWW 2018 (there are a couple other smaller partners too).

SUBRE can also be applied into the basement sewage plants of office/apartment towers to meet new DAO 2016-08 effluent standards.

Manila Water Technical Ventures are leveraging their expertise in managing the water needs of the Ayala Land portfolio and selling into other land developers as well. They have the accreditations, experience and reputation so that other companies trust them.

Manila Water also has some market penetration in Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Myanmar, so if successful in the Philippines, in future they could possibly bring MABR to other parts of SE Asia.
