I would be very keen to know more about this project. According to this morning’s announcement, the owner of the WWTP is Sihanoukville Port. Judging from information from Wikipedia, this is probably a show case project, a beach head for FLC. Why do I say that?
Waste from cruise ships and container ships cannot be discharged into the sea else it would pollute the surrounding beaches and kill the tourist trade. So it’s treated by SUBRE before it’s discharged into the sea, as statement in the announcement. An idea captured from the use of MABR to treat waste water at the Caribbean resorts before it’s discharged? I am surmising here.
Helps that the owner of the WWTP, or the end customer, Sihanoukville Port is a listco. Reduces the credit risk.
Cambodia is very much part of China’s One Belt One Road initiative according to Wikipedia. How much of China’s reference sites played a part to Sihanoukville Port’s choice of SUBRE? We won’t know the answer unless we can get the inside track. But I suspect there is a link to FLC China because the announcement says that the SUBRE will be supplied from China’s production base.
