Yeah - I also know nothing, but they've got cash in the bank, gold in the ground, and most importantly, people, plant, and processes that profitably find/source gold in the ground and convert it to more cash in the bank, at an increasing rate.
I think the main reasons they haven't been taken out already are that the management are a big part of the success, and part of that management includes not proving up more resource than they need to justify current investment, so there isn't a massive immediate benefit to a predator's numbers that make a deal a slam-dunk. Still, at some point the value available becomes so compelling that the risk to a predator becomes low. Kind of like the situation with CRE, IMO.
