Allied Resource Partners is moving forward on a number of projects concurrently. Details will become available as each project becomes publicly known and significant in scale. Our people have extensive experience and understanding of the mining and energy and infrastructure opportunities across Australia, acquired before the inception of ARP in 2011. Since then we have concentrated our analytical efforts on specific regions to best identify opportunity clusters and plan the way forward. The two-year planning phase of ARP’s corporate development is now over and we are now actively engaged in project acquisition.ARP will bring together a group of experienced project developers in order to advance individual projects through scoping and bank feasibility studies into construction and production. These activities are planned currently, to commence across two Australian states and internationally.Noting much of what ARP undertakes is confidential, we provide the following information to give some indication of projects underway.Leigh Creek Energy Project, PELA 582 (100% ARP TriEnergy Pty Ltd)The Leigh Creek Energy Project (LCEP) is in central South Australia approximately 550km north of Adelaide. The LCEP is contained with Petroleum Exploration Licence Application (PELA) 582, an 8,688km2 tenement over and around the existing Leigh Creek coal field and extending in a north westerly direction for approximately 200km.PELA 582 is held by ARP within a wholly owned subsidiary, ARP TriEnergy Pty Ltd.The LCEP has a number of features often attributable to a more advanced project, as follows:
- Supportive state government.
- Historical documents describe significant coal resources at depth.
- Leigh Creek is located outside the Great Artesian Basin (**) and therefore will not have an impact on this large body of fresh water.
- The site already has sealed road access and an established town at Leigh Creek, which lowers the cost of early exploration and development significantly.
ARP is presently assessing development options as part of its initial planning efforts. Most immediately this involves working with the South Australian Government (DMITRE), indigenous landowners and other stakeholders to move from a PELA to a PEL, and then obtain a Statement of Environmental Objectives (SEO) based on an Environmental Impact Report (EIR).
