I don’t want to rain on the Hydrogen parade (as it has some long term potential), but what makes batteries mainly fossil fuel based, but not hydrogen?
Hydrogen is mainly produced from steam reforming of natural gas. Why do you think Woodside are pushing the hydrogen bandwagon? But even if it was economic to produce hydrogen from electrolysis, there is still no guarantee it will come from renewable sources. It’s difficult to argue this, then say electricity for charging batteries “mainly requires fossil fuels”.
