For me it would be the purpose of derisk... It's all about playing the percentages to your advantage...
As for the guidance they gave... To give guidance with an upper limit of 150% on the baseline... That is huge... And as they stated... This was just for the customers they had already secured... Not taking into account the new customers. Hence holders with faith in the company would have been right to think that baseline could be 20%+ more than $18M (few more customers) and say 20%+ more than the upper figure... but if you're happy with their target being $18.5M for this year... That's fine.
As for the 1000%+ growth for the year (if they get their $18M)... It's a nice percentage... But percentage of growth (for me anyway) this early on isn't something that is reliable... Will AJX see 1000% growth in 2018? I doubt it... The growth they achieve after achieving $18.5M will be one I would be keeping an eye on...
100% growth for 2018 = $37M? NPAT $3-$6M?
50% growth for 2019 = $55.5M? NPAT $5-$10M?
Then 20% growth for a few years?
