Wet lettuce leaf reply is probably what will happen due to the wording.. @Neil1959 quoted 'classified as a Recreational Cannabis company'
Whereas the wording from IG is 'recreational LINKED Cannabis company'
Cannabis has always been linked with recreational use so I don't see the point in contacting them on behalf of the shareholder base.
IMO, it would be more appropriate for ASIC to take command of the situation, deny IG any licence to operate in Australia, demand all Australian shareholder property {stocks} be converted to certificate form and duly sent to that registered holder to do with as they may themselves.
The quantity of IG holding on behalf of 'Cannabis Clients' would presently be unknown BUT with this THREAT, there would be an immediate sell off on relisting/resuming. Stop losses would be hit, day-traders already have us on their radar for a major smash-and-grab etc etc..
In a wider ranging aspect, IG is only one of a minimum of 3 companies operating from the UK who are looking at Cannabis related stocks.
Next will be Uranium related companies which have much more devastating potential to societies.
It seems a can of worms has been opened at a base level...
