I would imagine the downward pressure was simply a few dropping out of the wait and grabbing some dead certs on the gold market today, they were running well.
nothing too sinister nor calculated from where I'm sitting.
It's alway tempting to chase another in the heat of the afternoon, but this stands to thrash them all hands down on good results.
