Adding to the fire, I'm quite enjoying the rising quality of the debate. I again contend that a company that has no debt does not have to recoup money spent. Money spent and not owed is not a debt. Therefore any profit that said company makes goes to the bottom line. On the other hand in a public listed company the shareholder who bought very high may never recoup his money while a newcomer buying into such as FPL at this price could well see a reasonable return on his investment. Should FPL manage to earn enough to sustain itself from this base would it not be plausible to contend that at that stage it would be in positive territory.?
