The reason why HIG is off nearly 50% from year highs is due to three things
1. Trade wars USA v China
2. Subsequent effect of price of Cu
3. Madang Governor taking Ramu to task over slurry pumping into Astrolabe Bay.
Now we have Freida wanting to send tailings down to Vanimo to be dumped into their Bay which
is significantly shallower than Astrolabe.
Goodness me. As well as the project engineers thinking they can build roads in Freida District.
The land is of clay origin. We are talking about rainfall of a 140 inches per year. So to put that in perspective that is similar to Tully Qld. So to further in placing it in perspective it would be like putting a road up Mt Bartle Frere.
Now even if they were to place roads up there. What’s a mining truck weigh ( a small one Fifty tonnes )
To me the road during their super long monsoon would be impassable to a Toyota 4wd with chains on. Freida is a great Tier 1 resource but it’s a bridge too far.
